Anonymous Club offers an intimate glimpse into the world of Courtney Barnett, a paradoxical figure who balances introversion with her role as an anti-influencer. Captured through Danny Cohen’s innovative 16mm lens, this documentary chronicles her journey during a pivotal moment in her career when she contemplates stepping away from the limelight. Over three years, Barnett records her innermost thoughts on a Dictaphone, navigating her vulnerabilities while gradually warming to the presence of Cohen’s camera. The film poignantly illustrates her quest for purpose and self-acceptance as she embraces her identity as an artist.
