King Lear, a king with a fierce sense of pride, demands declarations of love from his three daughters in exchange for their share of the kingdom. Goneril and Regan flatter him with extravagant praise, while Cordelia, valuing honesty over theatrics, refuses to play along. Hurt by Cordelia's sincerity, Lear disowns her and divides his realm between Goneril and Regan. This impulsive choice spirals into chaos, revealing the tragic consequences of misjudgment and the fragility of loyalty, ultimately leading to Lear's downfall.
