The Targa Florio, a legendary mountain road race in Sicily, was established in 1906 and marked the beginning of a motorsport legacy that endures to this day. Conceived by Vincenzo Florio, the youngest son of a Sicilian family, the Targa Florio ran until 1977, capturing the imagination of both drivers and manufacturers who viewed it as both wildly dangerous and a prestigious challenge.
