Kit Banion, a striking Virginia beauty shaped by the aftermath of the Civil War, built a new life in Wyoming and struck it rich. She owns a hotel called "The Maverick Queen"—a nickname she earned in her early days by branding every unbranded steer she found. Romance and danger arrive when a Pinkerton detective, posing as Jeff Younger and claiming to be kin to the notorious Younger brothers, enters her world. His true mission: capturing Butch Cassidy and The Wild Bunch.
