Adapted from Jo Brand's beloved novel, The More You Ignore Me offers a poignant glimpse into a quirky family navigating life in 1980s rural England. At the center is Gina, a young mother whose struggle with mental illness complicates her desire to be a nurturing figure. Her fixation on a local weatherman spirals into a crisis, resulting in her hospitalization. Meanwhile, her daughter Alice grapples with connecting to her medicated mother and devises a chaotic plan that tears the family apart. Set against a backdrop of The Smiths' music, the film blends humor and heartache while tackling mental health challenges.
