Rev. Charles Fortesque returns to England in 1905 after a decade of missionary efforts in Africa. Instead of the anticipated reprieve, his bishop assigns him a challenging new role: serving the marginalized community of prostitutes in London. Fortesque's journey unfolds as he navigates the complexities of this gritty world, confronting societal judgments and his own moral dilemmas. Through his interactions, he seeks to bring compassion and hope to those often overlooked, ultimately redefining his purpose in a city rife with struggle and redemption.
