Set against the backdrop of 1930s Prague, a devoted cremator, who sees his work as a means of liberating souls from earthly pain, finds himself increasingly entangled with the ideologies of Nazism. As his convictions deepen, the line between his profession and the political turmoil surrounding him blurs, leading him to embrace a chilling worldview. The film explores the dark intersections of duty, belief, and the moral decay that accompanies fanaticism, ultimately painting a haunting portrait of a man seduced by the promises of a new order.
