Patrick McGoohan delivers a captivating performance as a psychiatrist overseeing an insane asylum, where he orchestrates a radical experiment. In this bizarre setting, inmates become interconnected, sharing their psychoses, dreams, and sexual experiences, leading to unsettling revelations. Director Rene Daalders, known for his cult hit MASSACRE AT CENTRAL HIGH, presents HYSTERIA as a thrilling blend of sci-fi and horror, initially resembling a grindhouse classic. However, beneath its chaotic surface lies a profound exploration of individual versus collective consciousness, examining themes of power, control, and the quest for freedom in a confined environment.
