In May 1970, two significant protests erupted in response to the Vietnam War. The first was the Hard Hat Riot on Wall Street in New York City, where construction workers clashed with anti-war demonstrators. Meanwhile, in Washington, D.C., the Kent State/Cambodia Incursion Protest unfolded, drawing attention to the tragic events at Kent State University and the U.S. military's actions in Cambodia. These rallies highlighted the deep divisions in American society over the war and showcased the passionate responses from various groups.
