MURU follows Sergeant ‘Taffy’ Tāwharau as he grapples with a harrowing dilemma when the government employs antiterrorism tactics to execute an armed raid on his Urewera community during a school day. The tension escalates as Taffy must navigate the conflicting loyalties between his role as a police officer and his commitment to his people.
