A charming blend of Woody Allen’s wit and the spirit of Frances Ha, this British drama marks the feature debut of Greta Bellamacina, who also stars as Celeste, a young mother striving to establish herself as a poet in contemporary London. Her friend and neighbor, Stella, portrayed by co-writer Sadie Brown, harbors ambitions of becoming an actress but finds herself preoccupied with babysitting Celeste’s son. With a keen eye for detail, the film beautifully captures the dynamics of friendship and family, all while incorporating a subtly clever sense of humor.
