Wehrhafte Schweiz serves as a propaganda piece for the Swiss Army, crafted for the Expo 64 national exhibition. Emphasizing the ethos of geistige Landesverteidigung, or "cultural national defense," it depicts the Swiss military combating an ambiguous foe with an arsenal that includes flamethrowers, artillery, and fighter planes. Following the successful defense, the narrative transitions to serene visuals of Switzerland's stunning landscapes. Lasting 20 minutes, this film showcases cutting-edge action techniques, shot in the Cinerama format on high-quality MCS-70 Super Panorama 70mm film stock.
