Horatio Smith, an unconventional Cambridge archaeologist, leads a group of British and American students to Nazi Germany under the guise of conducting excavations. His purported aim is to uncover evidence supporting Aryan heritage, which earns him the Nazis' endorsement. However, Smith harbors a hidden motive: orchestrating the escape of concentration camp prisoners. As he navigates the perilous landscape of pre-war Germany, the true nature of his mission unfolds, blending academic pursuit with a brave act of defiance against tyranny.
