A lighthouse keeper guides a young prince to the fantastical realm of Taxandria, where he discovers the significance of love and freedom. In this oppressive society, a totalitarian regime has outlawed time—watches are seized, and cameras are banned for capturing moments. This narrative reflects Servais's recurring theme: authority stifles individual potential, forcing a distorted reality upon its citizens. As the prince navigates this surreal world, he confronts the artificial constraints imposed upon him, ultimately challenging the very foundations of his existence and questioning the rules of his own reality.
