A secluded Buddhist monastery in Japan has been home to a reclusive sect dedicated to extreme endurance for over a millennium. A filmmaker, grappling with his conflicting desires and spiritual beliefs, arrives seeking clarity but faces cold reception from the monks. The only one willing to engage is an unconventional outcast who favors ice cream and heavy metal over traditional meditation. Their unexpected bond leads them on a journey of self-discovery, uncovering profound truths—and a bit of mischief along the way. Spanning five years and three continents, Crows Are White delves into themes of truth, faith, and love.
