Angèle, a poignant 1934 French drama helmed by Marcel Pagnol, tells the story of a young and innocent woman, portrayed by Orane Demazis. Naivety leads her into a romantic entanglement, only to be left heartbroken and alone. The film draws inspiration from Jean Giono's novel, Un de Baumugnes, exploring themes of love, betrayal, and the harsh realities of life. Pagnol's direction, coupled with Demazis's captivating performance, creates a moving narrative that resonates with the struggles of vulnerability and longing.
