Daniel, a graduate student in 1960s New York, grapples with the legacy of his parents, Paul and Rochelle Isaacson, who were executed as Soviet spies during the 1950s. As he immerses himself in the antiwar protest movement, he reflects on the injustices faced by his family and his conviction that they were falsely accused. The narrative weaves together Daniel's personal struggles with historical events, exploring themes of identity, memory, and the quest for truth amidst the turbulence of a changing political landscape.
