Dolores Huerta defies the gender norms of the 1950s by co-founding the nation’s first farm workers' union alongside Cesar Chavez. Initially focused on labor and racial justice, her journey evolves into a battle for gender equality within the union, leading to her eventual departure. Amidst raising 11 children and navigating three marriages, she faces life-threatening violence from a San Francisco police squad. Through these challenges, Dolores cultivates a powerful vision that intertwines her burgeoning feminism with the struggles for racial and class justice, marking her as a formidable force in the fight for equality.
