In a future dominated by a singular global regime known as Contractualism, inventor Ward (Martin Landau) develops a groundbreaking drug that enables users to experience their most fantastical dreams. As the years pass, a staggering half of the global population becomes reliant on this drug. Meanwhile, the Union of United Esquires, armed lawyers tasked with upholding contracts, maintains order in this new reality. The film explores the implications of escapism and control in a world where dreams intersect with the harshness of enforced agreements.
