Rough and unapologetically gritty, Regan set the tone for the iconic series The Sweeney, showcasing John Thaw as the headstrong Detective Inspector Jack Regan and Dennis Waterman as his steadfast partner, Detective Sergeant Carter. The pilot captivated audiences and critics alike, leading to four successful seasons and two feature films. As Scotland Yard pushes for a modern image, Regan’s unyielding instincts clash with the changing tides. When a fellow officer is found dead, he defies authority and conventional methods to uncover the truth, unaware that some within the Flying Squad are determined to take him down.
