Lovers and Other Strangers

As Mike Vecchio and Susan Henderson gear up for their wedding, their excitement starkly contrasts with the turmoil surrounding them. Mike’s brother Richie faces a painful divorce, distressing their devout Catholic mother, Beatrice. Meanwhile, Susan's father is entangled in an affair, and her sister Wilma grapples with marital issues alongside her husband, Johnny. Amidst this family chaos, Mike's best friend, Jerry, is chasing after the maid of honor, Brenda, Susan's cousin. With emotional baggage weighing heavily on everyone, the couple’s special day becomes a comedic reflection of love and dysfunction.
