The Last Stop

The Élan School, a controversial for-profit therapeutic boarding school nestled in the Maine woods, served as a final hope for troubled teens deemed unmanageable by other programs. However, its treatment methods were marked by severe discipline, constant surveillance, and emotional degradation, often crossing into abuse. Years later, former students grapple with the lasting scars of their time there, reflecting on their experiences with a mix of resentment and acknowledgment of the complex effects these years have had on their lives. The haunting memories continue to shape their narratives long after leaving the institution.
