Mo Ali crafts a gripping knife-crime drama set in a stark future reminiscent of CHILDREN OF MEN and DISTRICT 13, unfolding in East 17, London. SHANK paints a harsh portrait of urban life where knives replace firearms, wielded by disoriented youth. At the center is the Paper Chazers gang, a rare beacon of morality, bartering scavenged food for cash. When Junior (Kedar Williams-Stirling), a member of the Chazers, witnesses his brother’s murder, he faces a harrowing choice between vengeance and adhering to the gang's ethical principles. This film expertly intertwines societal issues with an imaginative, action-packed narrative.
