Tom Collier's life takes an unexpected turn when he chooses to marry Cecelia instead of his long-time love, Daisy. As he navigates the mundanity of married life, Tom grows disillusioned with societal expectations and his own literary compromises. His old friend, now a butler, adds tension as Cecelia insists on his dismissal. Seeking to rekindle his past romance with Daisy, Tom is met with a surprising response: she decides to walk away, prioritizing their emotional well-being over nostalgia. This emotional unraveling forces Tom to confront the consequences of his choices and the true meaning of love.
