In 1997, during the Phoenix Lights phenomenon, four campers vanished without a trace, leaving behind only their haunting final footage. The Phoenix Tapes '97 honors their memory and those still seeking answers. Two years after his son Dustin was fatally shot during a traffic stop in Texas, Peter Miller uncovered these tapes, suspecting they held the key to the campers' disappearance. Believing Dustin had attempted to expose government secrets, Peter's investigation reveals scant media coverage and a mysteriously empty police report, deepening the mystery surrounding that fateful night.
