The Shock Doctrine

"The Shock Doctrine" delves into the concept of "disaster capitalism," drawing on Naomi Klein's theory that neo-liberal capitalism exploits crises—be it natural disasters, war, or terrorism—to strengthen its grip on society. The documentary meticulously examines how governments and corporations seize upon chaos to implement controversial policies, reshaping economies under the guise of recovery. By weaving together real-world examples and expert opinions, it sheds light on the troubling intersection of capitalism and catastrophe, urging viewers to reconsider the implications of capitalizing on human suffering.
