That Pair of Arms!

Set in 19th-century Rio de Janeiro, this nuanced adaptation of Machado de Assis's classic tale follows adolescent Inácio, an apprentice living in the Borges household. His monotonous existence shifts dramatically when he becomes captivated by the alluring arms of his employer’s wife. As he realizes she reciprocates his desire, their interactions transform from mere glimpses to a tender, albeit forbidden, romance. The narrative unfolds with a blend of poetry and subtlety, exploring themes of longing and love in a society that restricts their union.
