The Bakery Girl of Monceau

Rohmer's debut in his series of moral tales captures the essence of youthful desire and indecision. A young man initially pursues a girl he spots on the street, but after losing contact, he finds himself drawn to a charming baker instead. When fate intertwines his life with both women, he faces a dilemma, ultimately having to navigate the complications of dating them on the same day. This early New Wave film delves into themes of love, choice, and the often messy nature of relationships.
