Photographer Stephen Wilkes crafts a personal tribute to his mentor, Jay Maisel, as he prepares to vacate 'The Bank,' a sprawling 30,000-square-foot building in the Bowery. For four decades, Maisel has filled this space with an eclectic array of stunning, whimsical artifacts. As he departs, Wilkes captures not only the physical space but also the essence of Maisel's artistic journey, offering a glimpse into the life and legacy of a man who has profoundly influenced the world of photography. The documentary beautifully intertwines nostalgia, creativity, and mentorship.
