In the tumultuous late 1960s, Susanna Kaysen finds herself on an unexpected path after a brief consultation with a psychiatrist leads to her being admitted to a mental health facility. This experience transforms into a surreal exploration akin to Alice's Wonderland, as Susanna grapples with the delicate boundary separating sanity from madness. As she navigates life within the institution, she confronts the challenges of escaping its confines, ultimately facing a poignant decision between the safety of her fellow patients and the complex realities awaiting her outside.
