Francesca Cabrini, an Italian immigrant, steps into the chaos of 1889 New York City, facing rampant disease, crime, and destitute children. Undeterred, she embarks on a courageous quest to persuade the unwelcoming mayor to provide essential housing and healthcare for the city's most marginalized. Despite her struggles with broken English and her own declining health, Cabrini taps into her entrepreneurial spirit to create an unprecedented network of hope and support, transforming the lives of those around her and leaving an enduring legacy of compassion and resilience.
