Kelly, a seasoned fur trapper with a past connection to a Sioux chief, navigates the complexities of Sioux territory in the late 1870s. Hesitant to mentor the inexperienced Anse, he finds their dynamic tested when they take in a runaway Arapaho woman. As Anse develops feelings for her, the situation escalates when the Sioux chief returns with his warriors, determined to bring her back. Amidst rising tensions, loyalties are challenged, and relationships are strained, leading to a dramatic confrontation that shapes their fates.
