Set in the 1950s, "Inventing the Abbotts" follows brothers Jacey and Doug Holt, who hail from a less fortunate background in their quiet Midwestern town. Jacey, a charming flirt, juggles his attention between the affluent Abbott sisters, Eleanor and Alice, with the intention of toying with their emotions. In contrast, the more introspective Doug embarks on a genuine romance with Pamela, which raises eyebrows from Jacey and the strict Abbott father, Lloyd. As tensions rise between ambition and genuine affection, the brothers navigate love and rivalry amidst their contrasting approaches to relationships.
