In "The Wave" (2008), a high school teacher engages his students in a discussion about various government systems. Bored by the monotony of lessons on national socialism, the students dismiss the idea that a dictatorship could arise in contemporary Germany. To challenge their assumptions, the teacher initiates an experiment designed to demonstrate how easily individuals can be swayed and controlled by authority. As the experiment unfolds, it reveals unsettling truths about conformity and the potential for groupthink, leading to unexpected and dramatic consequences among the students.
