Exploring the intersection of sexual energy and the socio-political climate of 1971 Yugoslavia, Dušan Makavejev crafts a daring documentary that blends fiction with reality. Centered on the provocative ideas of psychologist Wilhelm Reich, the film spirals into the journey of a striking young Slavic woman as she embraces her sexual freedom. With a unique and surreal storytelling style, Makavejev challenges conventional narratives, inviting viewers to question both personal and collective liberation amidst the backdrop of a repressive regime. The result is a thought-provoking exploration of desire and societal constraints.
