The Moon and Sixpence

Charles Strickland, a discontented stockbroker, leaves behind his mundane middle-class existence and family to pursue his true passion: painting. Inspired by the life of Gauguin, his journey reveals a man consumed by an obsession with beauty, leading him to become increasingly selfish and ruthless. As Strickland immerses himself in the world of art, he alienates those around him, embodying a relentless quest for creative fulfillment at the expense of personal relationships. His transformation into a figure of both brilliance and moral decay captures the complexities of artistic ambition.
