Set against the backdrop of the 1973 Yom Kippur War, the narrative immerses viewers in the harrowing experience of Israeli soldiers as they confront chaos and despair. Following Weinraub and his friend Ruso, the day begins with an eerie calm that quickly spirals into turmoil and loss. Surreal imagery permeates the film, exemplified by a striking scene where Weinraub dangles from a rescue helicopter, witnessing the devastation below in a trance-like state. Eschewing traditional war tropes, the focus lies on the rescue crews grappling with the aftermath, emphasizing the emotional toll of conflict rather than glorifying the battle itself.
