In the vast Australian Outback, the nomadic Carmody family—Paddy, Ida, and their son Sean—navigate life as sheep drovers. While Ida and Sean yearn for stability and a permanent home, Paddy resists the idea of settling down. Their journey is punctuated by experiences such as a sheep-shearing competition, the arrival of a new baby, and indulgences in drinking and gambling. As these events unfold, the family's differing aspirations clash, ultimately shaping their future and the direction of their lives.
