P.C. George Dixon, a dedicated police officer nearing retirement, mentors a fresh recruit on the tranquil night patrol. As a quintessential, unassuming hero, Dixon embodies the values of a bygone era. However, he struggles to adapt to the harsher realities of 1950s London, encountering a rising tide of violence that challenges his old-school methods. The film highlights the clash between traditional approaches to policing and the gritty demands of a changing world, as Dixon grapples with his legacy in a society increasingly defined by crime.
