In "The Kid" (2000), successful but egotistical executive Russ Duritz finds himself unexpectedly confronted by his younger self, Rusty—a delightful and plump 8-year-old version of him. Astounded by the grim future that awaits him, Rusty is disheartened to see Russ devoid of joy, companionship, and a fulfilling life. Through their whimsical encounter, Russ embarks on a journey of self-discovery, guided by Rusty’s innocence, as he learns to merge his childhood aspirations with the reality of his adult existence, ultimately striving to reclaim the happiness he once knew.
