"Progress" draws a poignant connection between two tragic events: the racially motivated murder of a Black man by the Ku Klux Klan in the 1960s and the similarly devastating killing of another Black man by a gang in the 1990s. Through this dual narrative, the film explores the persistent cycles of violence and racial injustice that plague society across decades. By juxtaposing these incidents, it raises vital questions about progress and the ongoing struggle against systemic racism, urging viewers to confront uncomfortable truths about history and its haunting echoes in contemporary life.
