Morphine captivated the music scene in the 1990s with their groundbreaking “Low Rock” style, led by the charismatic Mark Sandman on two-string bass and vocals. Rising from Boston’s local clubs to international acclaim and major label success, their journey was cut short by tragedy in 1999. “Morphine: Journey of Dreams” features insights from surviving band members and associates alongside saxophonist Dana Colley’s evocative tour journals. Rare live performances highlight the band's magnetic sound and enduring legacy, while the documentary delves deep into their artistic achievements and the profound connections that defined their music.
