Rat Park

Rat Park revisits a groundbreaking 1970s experiment by Canadian psychologist Bruce Alexander, revealing that addiction isn't solely driven by drugs. Instead, it highlights the crucial role of one's environment in shaping behaviors. By illustrating how isolated lab rats succumbed to addiction while those in enriched, social settings thrived, the film underscores the significance of connection and community. This provocative exploration challenges conventional wisdom about addiction, prompting viewers to reconsider the societal factors that lead individuals into cycles of dependency. Ultimately, it suggests that addressing these underlying issues could be key to overcoming addiction.
