Director Bryan Fogel delves into the clandestine realm of sports doping and forms an unexpected alliance with Dr. Grigory Rodchenkov, a key figure in Russia’s “anti-doping” initiative. Through numerous Skype conversations, urine analysis, and awkward hormone treatments, their relationship deepens amid mounting revelations that implicate Rodchenkov in a widespread state-sponsored doping scandal at the Olympics.
