Deadline portrays the haunting tale of a nearly two-decade-old murder of an African American teenager in a quiet Alabama town, left in the shadows of neglect. When Nashville Times journalist Matt Harper, played by Steve Talley, crosses paths with a determined young idealist eager to uncover the truth, he feels compelled to dive into the investigation. Despite facing resistance from his publisher, receiving ominous threats, enduring a breakup with his fiancée, and grappling with his father's cancer diagnosis, Harper is driven to seek justice that has long been denied.
