Miranda sets off from Seattle to Carlton Heath, eager to reconnect with her estranged family during the holiday season. With a suitcase packed with gifts, she looks forward to embracing the joyful traditions she missed in her youth. Last Christmas, she developed a romance with Ian, a local man who aided her in her quest to find her father, James Whitcomb, a renowned theater actor linked to the town. At the urging of Ian’s widow, Margaret, Miranda agrees to keep her father's identity under wraps to shield the family from potential scandal.
