Brunhilde Pomsel, once a stenographer for Nazi Propaganda Minister Joseph Goebbels, reflects on her life and the pervasive influence of fascism. Despite the belief that such ideologies have been vanquished, she offers a sobering reminder that the shadows of authoritarianism still linger. Through her candid recollections, Pomsel challenges the notion of historical closure, revealing how the past continues to resonate in contemporary society. Her insights serve as a stark warning about the fragility of democracy and the enduring relevance of vigilance against totalitarianism.
