Daughter delves into societal perceptions of women, weaving together the lives of three female characters during a fateful Friday night in St Kilda. Their evening takes a dark turn due to an act of violence that intertwines their stories. Inspired by the tragic murders of Jill Meagher and Tracy Connelly, the film serves as both a poignant short and an awareness project. It confronts themes of violence against women and victim blaming, featuring a standout performance by Katherine Langford as Scarlett, alongside Aisha Tara as Jemma and Carolyn Rey as Alethea.
