In "Carandiru," a dedicated doctor initiates an AIDS prevention initiative within Brazil's largest prison, the Casa de Detenção de São Paulo. As he interacts with inmates, he comes to know those who will soon fall victim to a tragic event in Brazilian history. On that harrowing day, the São Paulo Military Police, under the guise of maintaining order, brutally kill 111 prisoners. This gripping narrative unfolds based on true events and is inspired by the book authored by Dráuzio Varella.
