Following her performances in *Lilla prinsen* (The Little Prince) and a small part in Ingmar Bergman’s acclaimed film *Fanny and Alexander*, Pernilla joined the cast of the Swedish adaptation of *The Sound of Music* in 1982, portraying the character Louise. Her versatility shone through in various productions at Folkan, including *Karlsson på taket*, *Mio, min Mio*, *Snövit* (Snow White), and *Ringens hemlighet*.

In 1983, she gained acclaim for her portrayal of Annika in the musical adaptation of *Pippi Longstocking*. Her performance as Pippi in the final two shows earned her rave reviews.
